Ann Catrin Evans is an internationally renowned Sculptor & Jeweller. A Black, Silver & Goldsmith. A leading light on the Welsh craft scene for over 25 years.
As well as large scale Sculpture, ACE creates functional Architectural Adornment, Home Accessories & Jewellery.
ACE's creates with beautiful workmanship in her art, work of quality with heart. There is a strong Welsh aesthetics, very fine, unpretentious, undertstated and stylish a craft that is modest but extremely beautiful. Often equality will highlight itself in the work with the contrast of valuable and worthless materials, eg gold and iron. ACE also likes work that has a purpose, visual or practical.
There are Collections of modern iron love spoons, door furniture, bespoke intricate pieces of jewellery, statement sculptures in the landscape...all make powerful connections between the viewer and the hand made piece. ACE’s work enhances the narratives of our everyday lives & landscapes.
ACE’s work is like that of an alchemist...the ‘non precious’ becomes precious, an old piece of iron becomes an exquisite piece of jewellery.
Whether forged in iron or copper, the ordinary becomes extraordinary in ACE’s hands.
