Artist, project manager and workshop facilitator
I studied fine art painting at Brighton University and discovering that I preferred to make work that you can touch I began to work in costume and create 3d interactive textiles. My jobs have included being an education officer for an environmental charity where I developed curriculum linked activities through art and nature. I also trained with creative partnerships to be “An advanced skills Creative” so I am used to finding innovative ways to link other areas of the curriculum to my art workshops. In my workshops and my art practice multi sensory experience is really important to me, the process of making and the materials used are as important as the finished product. I especially love leading felt making workshops creating flat or 3D forms. I also love textile collage and 3D modelling mainly using recycled materials. My own work is inspired by microscopic seeds and pollen grains and a recurrent theme is safe in- teriors - and protective cases - I often use suitcases and create containers or pods.
I make interactive sculpture and installations to commission and also tactile objects and object handling collections.
Floral Deconstruction - An archive of Wildflower Parts - is an on going project - I am currently looking for venues interested in hosting the pop up Creative Laboratory - see website for more information or contact me.
