Description

I work mainly in textiles and mixed media.  My work is often influenced by the techniques included in the courses I deliver for Adult Learning Wales.  Personal experience combined with nature and the beautiful colours found in the Vale of Clwyd often inspire my work, with colour combinations and texture being key

Although I have always had an interest in textiles, sewing many of my own clothes when a teenager, it wasn't until I undertook a City and Guild's course in Interior Decorative Techniques as a mature student that I found my enthusiasm lay with Textile Art.  I now enjoy sharing my passion and showing how versatile and accessible the art form is, by teaching for Adult Learning Wales.  I currently hold two evening classes in Ruthin and morning classes in Penrhyn Bay and Corwen.

These courses motivate me to explore new techniques and themes which then inform my own work, keeping it fresh and moving forward.  I can't say that I specialise in one technique as there is just too much to experiment with and definitely not enough time to try it all.
