Wheel-thrown stoneware pottery, made and fired in small batches. I work in a flecked stoneware clay – giving a more natural, tactile feel and much greater interest to very simple forms and glazes. Although I love the feel of the rough stoneware, it does demand the contrast of a smooth glaze. The glaze is mostly white but sometimes I use a grey or pale aqua. My work is simple, practical, affordable and intended to be used every day.
What to expect:
We are collective of artists working in textiles, silver and ceramics. This idyllic woodland venue is being set up to run craft courses but it's still a work in progress so please don't wear your best shoes.
The studio is open 14/15 and 21/22 September for Helfa Gelf and the additional weekend of 28/29 September (11.00am-4.00pm)
Why not walk to Wernog Wood on the footpath from Ruthin to Clwyd Gate? We are 200m from Offa's Dyke, and there are fabulous walks in every direction. Enjoy coffee & cake in Ruthin Craft Centre.
