The language, culture and history of Wales, are the roots of my inspiration. The need to tell a story, to throw light on a small part of our history, and to enlighten those who do not yet know the story. Text, from poetry, song or historical documentation, is often the starting point, and I usually incorporate text into the work.
I work in the medium of fabric and stitch, producing three-layered quilts from hand-dyed, printed and inked fabric with dense machine- and hand-stitch to create texture.
I live in Rhuthun, Denbighshire.
I am not holding an open studio for 2017, but there are pieces of my work on show at Storiel, Bangor as part of the Helfa Gelf exhibition.
