We carve, in wood, and paint realistic native birds which we mount on locally sourced driftwood. These driftwood bases from the rivers Clwyd and Conwy are an essential component of the finished piece and their shapes often suggest what birds to carve. John first started carving forty years ago when we lived in the US where bird-carving is greatly prized. Marilyn uses pyrography to texture the feathers and paints the birds in acrylics. Our work has been exhibited in a variety of galleries.
