I am a clay sculptor. I trained in Brittany France, and remained for ten years running my own studio. Now based on the Llyn Peninsula, I work figuratively, taking inspiration from the human and animal kingdoms. I am particularly interested in finding ways to capture a sense of life and movement from a static piece of clay. I also paint and work copper sheets to create low relief work with patinas. However, I particularly enjoy painting with glazes onto hand-built clay forms that can tell a story
What to expect:
Resident artist at Creu, Parc Glynllifon , the studio is situated in the Craft courtyard, with walks, picnic areas, shop and cafe. Here you can watch me work, book a course and have a go yourself, or even commission a bespoke piece.
As well as 10/11 and 17/18 August, the studio is also open 24/25/26 August for Helfa Gelf (11.00am-4.00pm)
Parc Glynllifon is well signposted on approach. It is on the Clynnog Road between Caernarfon and Pwllheli, near Dinas Dinlle. Nearby bus stop. Ample free parking. Workshops and cafe areas are free to enter. There is a fee to access historic grounds.
Beautiful location, family friendly, dog friendly. Marvellous walks in historic grounds and a great cafe too. If you have time, on leaving Glynllifon visit Dinas Dinlle, an interesting coastline and home to our local Air Ambulance.
This studio is open throughout the year by appointment
