I work with porcelain to explore landscape: impressing paper thin clay directly into rock, to pick up marks and textures left by the industrial past...and Latex, a new discovery. I continue to experiment with different ways of lighting these pieces to reveal hidden impressions. This is a chance to see results of the exploration supported by an Arts Council of Wales Research and Development grant to 'map' features of Traeth Mawr Porthmadog before it was drained to build the Cob.
What to expect:
I will use Helfa Gelf to reflect on the fieldwork undertaken in the summer for this 'Fragments
in Time' project where I sought to capture features of the landscape in porcelain, sketch, sound and image. I look forward to feedback and responses.
